Dondakaya Kurma


1.Dondakayalu 1/4 kilo
2.Tamarind juice as required
3.Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
4.Chana dal 1 tbsp
5.Peanuts 2 tbsp
6.Tempering seeds 1 tbsp
7.Sesame seeds 2 tbsp
8.Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
9.Red chilli powder
10.Turmeric powder a pinch
11.Sugar 1/2 tbsp
12.Salt to taste
13.Oil 3 tbsp
14.Coriander leaves
15.Curry leaves
16.Dry coconut


1.Heat some oil in a pan,add tempering seeds,chana dal,ginger garlic paste,curry leaves,turmeric powder and saute for a minute.
2.Add dondakaya pieces and mix well,fry for few minutes.
3.Now add ground paste (dry coconut,sesame seeds,peanuts,onion) and saute cook till mixture releases oil on sides of pan.
4.Add some water as required and mix well,cover and cook for few minutes.
5.After few minutes add tamarind juice,red chilli powder,salt,garam masala,sugar and mix well,cook for another few minutes.
6.Finally sprinkle some coriander leaves and serve hot.
