Shoaib Malik pens emotional note for Sania Mirza after her last Grand Slam
India's tennis player Sania Mirza did not have a good ending to her career at the Grand Slams. In her last match at the Australia Open, she came in second place in the mixed doubles category. Mirza and her partner, Rohan Bopanna, lost to the Brazilian team of Luisa Stefani and Rafael Mataos in the final game at the Rod Laver Arena.
After the match, her husband, the Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik wrote on Twitter that he is proud of Mirza for her achievements in tennis and that she is an inspiration to women in sports. He congratulated her on her successful career.
