Actress Amala Paul denied entry to temple due to religious discrimnation in Kerala

Actress Amala Paul, known for her roles in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films, was recently denied entry to the Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple in Kerala due to her religion. She was born in an orthodox Christian family in Aluva, Ernakulam, Kerala.

The temple authorities reportedly denied her entry into the temple, stating that only Hindu devotees are allowed to enter the Mahadeva temple in accordance with the temple's protocol. They advised her to visit the goddess outside the temple.

Feeling disappointed and frustrated by the discrimination, Amala left the temple and wrote her thoughts in the temple's visitor's register. She expressed that it is unfortunate that religious discrimination still exists in India in the year 2023. She went on to say that she hopes for a change in discrimination and for a time when everyone is treated equally, regardless of religion.
