Critically ill-woman flown 26 hours from US to Chennai for medical treatment
An air ambulance flight from Portland, Oregon, in the United States to Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, took a 67-year-old woman in critical condition with a span of 26 anxious hours.
It is the International Critical-Care Air Transport Team's longest medical transfer to date. The Bengaluru woman was hospitalised in a tertiary hospital in the US after experiencing health complication while visiting with her family. The woman was transferred to Chennai since the local hospital refused to treat her due to her health issues, which included kidney failure and dependence on dialysis. One crore rupees reportedly used toward the treatment.
