Breaking: AP Govt to issue notification to form new districts
Andhra Pradesh's governing YSRCP administration is expected to release a notification soon to establish the additional districts. According to sources, the current 13 districts would be changed into 26 districts. The goal was to have as many districts as there are Parliament constituencies, however the 26th district would be created due to the complexities of the Araku Lok Sabha constituency.
Because the population census is expected to be completed in 2024, the state government of Andhra Pradesh is looking for other ways to create additional districts. The move is said to be planned in order to garner additional funds from the centre. The idea to establish new districts from existing ones that were created just before the Center barred boundary changes.
