CM KCR writes to PM Modi against plans to amend rules of All India Services
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, voicing strong objection over planned changes in service regulations for officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) level. Rao stated in his letter that the proposed revisions are contrary to the federal framework of the Constitution and will undermine the all-India nature of such offices.
CM KCR, went on to say that while the existing system requires state governments to agree on deputation of officials, the latest plan will unilaterally change that. The letter claimed it is obviously a ploy to wield indirect control by the national government on personnel operating in the state.
