Security alert indicates terror plot, threat to PM Modi on R-Day
Security signals from intelligence agencies have revealed a probable terror plot and threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries during R-Day celebrations, according to media sources.
According to the report, intelligence services issued a security notice stating that the warning originated from organisations headquartered in Pakistan and the Afghanistan-Pakistan area, and that the assaults may be carried out via drones.
This year, India will commemorate Republic Day on January 26. An annual Republic Day parade is staged at Delhi's Rajpath as part of the event.
Meanwhile, a delegation of five Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan has arrived in Delhi to participate in the Republic Day 2022 celebrations.
