'Make in India' has become an ‘Assembly in India', alleges KTR
K.T. Rama Rao, Telangana's Minister for Industry and Information Technology, asked the Central government on Monday to encourage 'progressive states like Telangana.'
He said that, despite being a performing state, Telangana is not receiving adequate assistance from the Union government, and that performing states should be rewarded. The minister made these remarks while attending the PM Gati Shakti South Zone virtual conference on Monday, which was presided over by Union Road, Transport, and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. KTR has emphasised Telangana's successes in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, handlooms and textiles, electricity, coal, and other industries. According to KTR, Hyderabad has a long history of having a robust defense-related environment.
The minister made another strong argument for a defence corridor for Telangana, questioning the Union government for allocating the corridor to Bundelkhand, which has no ecosystem and no enterprises. KTR claimed that the current flagship mission 'Make in India,' has turned into a 'Assembly in India' initiative. He has also emphasised the importance of improved road, rail, and aviation network connections.
