India reports first Omicron death

Rajasthan: Amid increasing Covid-19 positive cases, India reported the first Omicron death case. According to the reports, a 74-year-old man from Udaipur in Rajasthan died last week while undergoing treatment for the Omicron variant. Union Health Ministry officially confirmed the first Omicron death case and added that the elder person has diabetes and comorbidities.

Doctors said that he was fully vaccinated. According to the reports, the elder man was admitted to Maharana Bhupal government hospital on December 15 and he was tested negative for Covid-19 twice. He died on December 31.
