Farmers from the capital city area staged a Maha Padayatra from Amaravati to Tirupati in response to the state government's intentions to divide the capital city. As part of it, Amaravati JAC leaders Shiva Reddy, Tirupati Rao, Sudhakar, and Sailaja described their Maha Padayatra experiences and explained the aim of their yatra. While discussing the difficulties they have encountered while fighting for a cause, they have criticised the current government's political tactics. Siva Reddy, the leader of the Amaravati JAC, stated.

"Regardless of political squabbles, Amaravati should be declared the state's only capital." The Chief Minister is attempting to keep Amaravati's grounds barren. "When he was Leader of the Opposition, Jagan welcomed the suggestion to make Amaravati the capital," he said.
