Stop auction of Singareni coal blocks, CM KCR writes Modi
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting to stall the auction of four coal blocks belonging to Singareni Colleries Company Limited(SCCL). He wrote in the letter that SCCL is playing a major role in providing coal to the thermal power stations in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu by producing 65 million tonnes of coal every year.
He further mentioned that the coal miners' unions of SCCL gave a call for a three-day strike from Thursday against the coal blocks auction. Earlier, the Coal Minister called for the auction of Kalyani Khani Block-6 underground, Koyagudem Open Cast-3, JBROC-3 or Sathupalli Open Cast-3 and Shravanapalli Open Cast.
