Ram Charan's wife Upasana adopts Asiatic lions
Ram Charan's wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, has fostered a pair of Asiatic lions from the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad.
Upasana, the vice-chairperson of Apollo Foundation and Apollo Life, gave a cheque for Rs 2 lakh to zoo authorities on Saturday for adopting 'Vicky' and 'Laxmi,' a couple of Asiatic lions, for a year.
Upasana and Anushpala Kamineni gave a cheque to S. Rajashekar, Curator of the Nehru Zoological Park, for adoption fees and one-year care of the pair.
Upasana adopted an Asiatic elephant from the Nehru Zoological Park for a year in July of last year.
Rajashekar congratulated Upasana and Anushpala for their enthusiasm in adoption a pair of lions for a year, therefore enhancing the zoo's wildlife conservation programme. He also stated that their dedication to wildlife conservation is a motivation to many, and he hopes that more individuals would step forward to adopt wild creatures from the Nehru Zoological Park.
