Cyclone Jawad: High Alert sounded in North Andhra
Deep depression has developed into a cyclonic storm, which is its route to north Andhra Pradesh in the Bay of Bengal. Cyclone Jawad is 420 kilometres from Vizag and will have winds of up to 100 kilometres per hour when it reaches the coast around north Andhra Pradesh-Odisha. There will almost certainly be a lot of devastation. The Met Office predicts light to moderate rainfall in numerous areas, with heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas along the south coast of Odisha and heavy rainfall in isolated areas along the north coast of Andhra Pradesh. On Saturday, severe to very heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
In a review meeting, CM Jagan notified the concerned officials. In light of the cyclone, authorities have also issued an alert.
