Infection Control Academy of India president Rangareddy on new Covid variant
Hyderabad: The center alerted state governments after the new Covid-19 variant B.1.1.529 found in South Africa. Infection Control Academy of India president Rangareddy expressed worry after the new variant and asked the people to follow the Covid-19 safety measures. He said that the new variant is more infectious than the previous variants.
He added that as per the inputs from South Africa, the rate of infectivity and transmission is faster. He said that the government should fasten the vaccination process. It is known that WHO named the new variant as Omicron and alerted the nations.
