Red crab migration in Australia wins hearts
One of the largest migrations on the blue planet started on Christmas Island in Australia as red crabs took to the roads and bridges as a part of their annual migration to the ocean. Christmas Island witnesses a great migration every year and more than 50 million crabs migrated from the forest to the ocean. Visitors make a beeline to capture rare vistas of cannibalistic crabs.
The streets, parks and every corner of the island witnessed the great migration and officials closed all the roads to protect them from accidents. The crabs move towards the ocean and to mate and spawn.
