23-year-old's startup converts plastic waste into sneakers; Anand Mahindra is eager to fund it

The way sneakers are made in India is being revolutionised by an Indian sneaker firm called 'Thaely,' which gets its name from the Hindi word for plastic bags. The startup creates sneakers out of garbage, such as plastic bags and bottles, that can be shipped anywhere in the globe for $110. Mahindra came out in support of Ashay Bhave, an Indian entrepreneur whose company makes footwear out of waste bottles and rubbish bags, on Wednesday.
The business magnate enlisted Twitter's assistance in connecting him with the person behind the project, and indicated interest in investing in the venture. Anand Mahindra also expressed his embarrassment for not knowing about this 'amazing startup' earlier. “Today I'm going to buy a pair. (Could someone please explain me how to obtain them?) And count me in when he raises funding!” Mahindra said in a tweet.
