Olympian PV Sindhu awarded Padma Bhushan
President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday presented Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award, to Olympian badminton player PV Sindhu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Padma Awards ceremony. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present at the event.
119 awards were presented to winners this year. The 26-year-old is one of India's finest athletes in the modern era. Sindhu won a silver medal in women's singles badminton at the Rio Olympics in 2016. She bagged a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.
