Pattabhi Ram sent to 14 days judicial custody
K. Pattabhi Ram, a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesman, was sent in judicial detention for 14 days for apparently using abusive language towards Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Ram was detained on Wednesday night and sent to the Third Additional Metropolitan Court, where he was placed in judicial detention for two weeks. The opposition leader was then sent to Machilipatnam Jail. Ram was brought to Thotlavalluru Police Station following his arrest from his home amid high drama.
The TDP leader's lawyer filed the bail plea, but the government's lawyer objected, citing many previous charges filed against him. After hearing both sides' arguments, the magistrate denied the bail request and placed him in judicial custody.
