High voltage in AP politics: TDP and YSRCP indulge in protests and counter protests
The ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP are at loggerheads over derogatory remarks made against Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and vandalism of TDP offices including party headquarters in Mangalagiri. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu sat on 36-hour deeksha beginning from Thursday morning. To counter Naidu’s protest, the YSRCP gave a call for 48-hour Janaagraha protest, severely condemning the TDP support for its official spokesperson K Pattabhi Ram.
Govardhan Reddy, a TDP leader from Kadapa district, has garlanded Chandrababu consisting of Rs 500 notes to support his stir. The TDP supremo asked party men to use the amount for repairing the damaged furniture in TDP central office. On the other side, YSRCP women corporators have thrashed Chandrababu’s photo with chappals in Tirupati.
