TDP calls for AP Bandh; TDP leaders arrested
The main opposition in Andhra Pradesh has called for a state wide bandh on October 20(today) to protest against the ruling YSRCP government over the alleged attacks at their party offices on October 19. TDP leaders have launched a statewide protest. They have been impeding all modes of transit. Police have reacted by arresting TDP leaders and transporting them to police stations. Police detained TDP supporters who attempted to protest at the Ongole RTC bus stop. TDP leader Somireddy Venkateswarulu has been detained at his home in Kurnool. Arvind Babu, Narsaraopeta TDP Incharge Chadalawada, has been detained. Former MLA Bhuma Brahmanand Reddy has been detained at his home in Nandyala. House arrests are still in effect in other districts.
