Lakhimpur Kheri violence case : Union Minister son sent to three days police remand

In connection with the October 3 violence, a local court in Lakhimpur Kheri sentenced Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, to three days in police detention on Monday. The Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed by the Uttar Pradesh government to investigate the event, has asked the Chief Judicial Magistrate for a 14-day police detention of Ashish Mishra in order to conduct additional investigations and recreate the murder scene. According to the public prosecutor, one of the major suspects, Ashish Mishra, has not cooperated in providing answers to the officials involved throughout the 12 hours of interrogation.
