Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana has advocated for more female involvement in the judicial system. On September 26, while speaking at a felicitation celebration for him and the nine newly appointed judges organised by Supreme Court women advocates, the CJI pushed for a 50 percent quota for women in the judiciary. He said that just 11.5 percent of the Supreme Court's judges were female in the Court of Appeal. The CJI stated that he was pressing the administration to rectify various infrastructure facilities in order to solve the problems experienced by women's advocates. According to him, there is a dearth of women's restrooms, which causes problems for even female officers.
