Pakistan red faced after Kiwis abandons tour over security threat, PM’s assurance rejected
The New Zealand cricket team has embarrassed Pakistan by abandoning their tour at the last minute by raising security concerns. Pakistan has been trying to revive tours by foreign sides after home internationals were suspended in the aftermath of a 2009 terror attack on the Sri Lankan side.
Imran Khan, Pakistan Prime Minister, tried to assure the guests of security in a call to his New Zealand counterpart but to no avail. Pakistan Cricket Board chief Ramiz Raja said that Kiwis will have to answer for the pullout at ICC.
