AP High Court gives nod for installation of Ganesh idols in private places only
Amaravati: The High Court on Wednesday issued orders allowing installation of Ganesh idols in private places by restricting number of persons to five across the state. A petition was filed in the court urging to allow erection of Ganesh idols in private locations.
At the same time, people installing idols in private places must follow the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Andhra Pradesh government, the court said. However, the High Court in its order made it clear that idols should not be installed in public places. The BJP and TDP staged protests in the last few days demanding the state government to give nod for installation of idols.
