CJI Ramana asks Telugu states to resolve Krishna water row amicably
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday heard the petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh government requesting to solve the Krishna water dispute with neighbouring Telangana state. A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana advised Telugu states to resolve the water row amicably.
The CJI rescued himself from hearing the petition as he argued on the issue in the past. “I belong to both Telugu states,” he stated. He mentioned that the matter can be resolved through mediation. “I will refer the petition to another bench if both states deny mediation,” he added.
