Boxer Satish Kumar storms into quarterfinals at Tokyo 2020 Olympics
Indian athletes are leaving no stones unturned to shine in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. After defeating Jamaica's Ricardo Brown, boxer Satish Kumar has advanced to the quarter-finals of the men's +91 kg super heavyweight division. He defeated the Jamaican fighter 4-1 to go to the next round.
The 32-year-old will next face Uzbekistan's Bakhodir Jalolov on August 1. Satish was also the very first Indian to qualify for the Olympics in the super heavyweight category. Lovlina Borgohain (women's 69kg category), Pooja Rani (women's 75kg category), and Satish (men's +91kg category) are just one victory away from earning a medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics.
