Yediyurappa resigns as Karnataka CM, breaks down while announcing resignation

Bengaluru: Putting an end to the speculations, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday announced his resignation to the CM post and broke down in the state Assembly. In a tearful speech, he announced that he will resign after lunch today and recalled that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee asked him to be a minister at the Centre. “But I told him that I like to serve the people of Karnataka,” he stated.
Yediyurappa further said that he is happy as he got a chance to be CM even after he turned 75. “I am indebted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president JP Nadda,” he mentioned.
