Indian rowers Arjun Jat and Arvind Singh reach historic semifinals at Tokyo Olympics
Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh, India's lone rowing pair, qualified for the semifinals of the Lightweight Men's Double Sculls at the Tokyo Olympics by placing third in the repechage race on Sunday with a time of 6:51.36. They finished third behind a team from Poland (6:43.44) and Spain (6:45.71) at Tokyo's Sea Forest Waterway.
They are the first Indians to reach the Olympic double sculls semifinals.
They will now race with Spain, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, and Ukraine in the second semifinal on Tuesday (July 27). The top three crews from the two semifinals will advance to the six-team final.
