Prof Nageshwar asks why CM should transfer cash into beneficiary accounts
According to Professor Nageshwar, a chief minister should not involve in transferring of cash into accounts of beneficiaries of social welfare schemes when an accountant can do the job. He strongly opposed certain direct cash transfer schemes being implemented by state governments.
“Centre or states can support people financially in extraordinary situations like providing old age pensions,” he mentioned. Nageshwar has defined the development as people leading their lives without depending on any support from the governments. He found fault with the AP government for providing Rs 15,000 per year for women aged between 45 and 60 under the YSR Cheyutha scheme.
