Australia's Brisbane to host 2032 Olympic Games
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has accepted the proposal of its executive board to host the Summer Olympics in Brisbane, Australia, in 2032. Brisbane seemed almost likely to win the hosting rights after the IOC's executive board unanimously recommended it as the only contender for the 2032 edition of the games earlier this year.
Brisbane will now be Australia's third host city for the games. It was originally held in Melbourne in 1956, and later in Sydney in 2000. The games will be held in Paris, France in 2024, and Los Angeles, California in 2028.
