ICMR gives nod to reopening of primary schools, says 40 crore are still vulnerable to infection
Taking the latest national sero survey into consideration, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) gave green signal for reopening of primary schools across the nation.
ICMR Director General Dr Balram Bhargava said on Tuesday that 67.6 per cent of India’s population above six years were found to have SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. However, he stated that 40 crore people in the country are still vulnerable to Covid-19 infection. At present, 718 districts in India are having positivity rate above 10 per cent, including major cities like national capital New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
