Student unions tried to lay siege CM Jagan’s residence against job calendar
Vijayawada: Disappointed with the release of job calendar by the Andhra Pradesh government, student unions gave ‘Chalo Tadepalli’ call on Monday. But the police officials have denied permission for the protest as Section 144 was in force in and around the residence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Large number of police personnel were deployed on the roads leading to the CM’s residence and conducting random searches on vehicles to identify protesters and take them into custody. Notices were also given to leaders of the Amaravati JAC under CrPC 149. When TDP leaders tried to lay siege the CM’s residence in support of student unions, cops took them into custody.
