Single-dose Sputnik Lite COVID vaccine to be launched in India shortly
The single-dose Sputnik Light COVID-19 vaccine is set to be released in India shortly. According to Russian ambassador Nikolay Kudashev, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) expects the Sputnik V and Astrazeneca'mix and match' vaccination findings to be released by the end of July. He hoped that very soon, the vaccine will get clearance to be launched in India for emergency use. For vaccine production, Russia has already tied up with Serum Institute.
However, the first batch of Sputnik vaccinations is slated to be manufactured at SII's facilities in September, with both companies intending to produce over 300 million doses of the vaccine in India each year.
