Andhra Pradesh High Court suspends G.O. No. 2
Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh High Court issued an interim order suspending G.O. No. 2 and postponed the hearing after four weeks. A single-judge bench of the court Justice B Devanand issued orders in this regard.
The state government transferred certain executive and administrative powers of the Panchayat secretaries to Village Revenue Officers (VROs). The court said that the G.O. is against the directive principles in Article 40 and the transferred powers to VROs is against the spirit of Gram Swaraj.
