Health Ministry cautions against 'revenge travel', warns of lockdown if Covid norms violated

The Health Ministry has voiced concerns about vast numbers of Indians visiting tourist destinations despite the potential of the third wave of Covid infections. Lav Agarwal, Secretary (MoHFW), said that revenge travel is hazardous. People must realise that the battle against Covid-19 is currently ongoing, he noted. He has warned people, if the covid norms are violated, lockdown will be imposed. Lav Agarwal has made these comments after seeing many people visiting hill stations, bazaars without masks, and following physical distance norms. 'We will be bound to face another challenge if covid measures are not followed,' Lav Agarwal said.
