Centre plans to set up national stockpile of life-saving drugs and medical equipment
As the experts are predicting that the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic to hit India soon, the Central government is planning to set up a national stockpile of life-saving drugs and medical equipment. In this direction, a task force formed by the Centre is holding discussions with pharma firms and manufacturing companies of medical devises.
During the first and second wave, India has faced shortage of oxygen concentrators, Remdesivir and Amphotericin B drugs. Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance Secretary General Sudarshan Jain has confirmed that the Centre wants to create stockpile of critical drugs.
