Jamsetji Tata top philanthropist of last century with donation worth $102 billion
Hurun Report and EdelGive Foundation have compiled a list of the world's top philanthropists during the last century based on reports available and details obtained from the charities of the respective corporations. The list was prepared using the information on contributions, payments, and valuables donated by the respective persons up to the present day.
India’s Jamsetji Tata is on top of the list with a $102 billion donation. He is known worldwide as the “Father of Indian Industry.” Apart from Tata, only other Indian to make into the list was industrialist Azim Premji. Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and investor George Soros were ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
