PM to chair all-party meet today with J&K leaders for restoration of statehood
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to chair an all-party meeting with mainstream political parties of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in Delhi on Thursday. According to the reports, four former chief ministers Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Mehbooba Mufti will attend the meeting to discuss restoration of statehood and holding assembly elections in J&K.
It is said that 14 important leaders from J&K will attend the first all-party meeting with the PM after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Official sources say that the Centre may provide statehood to J&K.
