Balakrishna celebrates 21st foundation day of Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital
Actor turned politician Nandamuri Balakrishna has celebrated the 21st foundation day of the cancer hospital on June 22, today, and attended a small event. Addressing on the occasion, Balakrishna said the hospital has been serving poor people for the past two decades. He said the hospital began with 100 beds and now it has increased to more than 500 beds with the support of donors, doctors, hospital staff and others. He said modern means of equipment are being used in the treatment of cancer.
The Hospital was founded by Balakrishna's father Late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao in remembrance of his wife Late Basavatarakam, who fought a tough battle with cancer.
