Water wars between AP, Telangana escalate
The water war between the two Telugu states continues as the Telangana government has faulted the AP government over its functioning towards the irrigation projects. Telangana government has objected to the AP government, and, in its cabinet meeting, it has decided to counter the neighboring Telugu state by announcing some new projects. Central Jal Shakthi Ministry and Apex Council Meetings failed to resolve the water disputes between these two states.
Telangana government had already approached the National Green Tribunal faulting the AP government over its alleged interference in the Rayalaseema lift irrigation and Rajolibanda Right canal projects. It has also filed cases against the AP government in the Supreme Court. Telangana government has decided to go to any extent to protect the interest of the state farmers.
