Telangana government decides to construct new irrigation projects on Krishna
Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabinet on Saturday decided to construct a few irrigation projects on the Krishna river. The state government decided to construct a barrage near Alampur to divert 60 to 70 tmc ft water through the pipeline. Another project will be constructed within the limits of four villages Gummadam, Velaturu, Gondimala and Pedda Maruru between Gadwal and Wanaparthy districts.
The cabinet decided to fill the Eduala reservoir with that water. CM KCR also decided to construct the left canal of the Pulichantala project to irrigate two lakh acres in Nalgonda and Suryapet. The Cabinet decided to construct a flood flow canal at Kusumarthi village where the river Bheema, a tributary of river Krishna entered Telangana. The cabinet also ordered to construct a lift-irrigation project on the tail-pond of Nagarjunasagar.
