Google announces Rs113 crore grant to set up 80 oxygen plants in India

Google has recently announced a grant of Rs 113 crore to set up 80 oxygen plants in India. Google's philanthropic arm, Google.org, will support the installation and procurement of 80 oxygen generation plants by giving training to healthcare workers in rural parts of the country.
Furthermore, the tech giant has announced a grant of Rs 90 crore to organisations like Give India. In addition, it will help to upskill 20,000 frontline health workers by providing specialised training in Covid-19 management. According to the reports, Google.org will run skilling programmes in 15 Indian states meant for 1.8 lakh ASHA workers and 40,000 ANMs.
