Telangana govt to use drones for delivery of covid vaccines
For the first time in India, the Telangana government will use drones for the delivery of Covid-19 vaccines to Primary Health Centres (PHCs). According to the reports, the Centre has permitted the state government to use drones on a pilot basis for delivery of vaccines.
The trials of transporting vaccines from Vikarabad Area Hospital to other PHCs will begin soon. A nodal officer will supervise the entire pilot project. The actual delivery of vaccine stocks will start once the dummy vaccine vials are transported successfully. The ICMR and IIT Kanpur have secured permission to use the services of drones for the delivery of the coronavirus vaccines.
