Lockdown in India should be lifted gradually: ICMR
New Delhi: As positive cases are steadily decreasing in the nation, the ICMR suggested to start a gradual unlocking process in India to prevent a sudden surge in the coronavirus cases. Addressing the press conference here on Thursday, ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava said that the phase-wise lifting of lockdown will prevent a massive surge of Covid cases.
The ICMR chief asserted that vaccination is the only option to fight against the coronavirus. He said that there is no shortage of vaccine jabs in India. “Our country will be in a position to vaccinate one crore people every day by mid of July or August,” he added.
