Centre drops plasma therapy from coronavirus treatment guidelines
New Delhi: The Centre dropped the convalescent plasma therapy treatment from the list of Covid-19 treatment guidelines. The national task force decided to drop the plasma therapy from Covid treatment after it found the experimental procedure is ineffective in reducing mortality. The task force including top doctors, scientists and senior officials conducted a meeting in the last week and decided to remove plasma therapy from the Covid-19 treatment.
Several scientists wrote a letter to the Principal Scientific Advisor K Vijay Raghavan warning about plasma therapy procedure in the nation. According to medical experts, plasma therapy is not showing any improvement in Covid patients.
