DRDO’s anti-COVID-19 drug 2-DG launched
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardan launched the anti-COVID-19 drug 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) on Monday. The anti-COVID-19 drug was developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization(DRDO). The Union Defence Minister has congratulated the DRDO and said that India will continue to fight against the coronavirus. He said it is not a relaxing time and wanted to continue everything to overcome the virus.
Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that the drug 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) will help in faster recovery and reduces the patients' dependency on oxygen.
