Anti-Covid drug 2-DG will be available from today
Hyderabad: The first batch of anti-Covid-19 medication 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) will be released today (Monday) by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan at the headquarters of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). 10,000 packets will be released in the first batch and the price of each packet may be available at Rs 600. 2-DG will available in the form of powder and need to take two times a day by mixing it in water.
The drug will help the corona patients to recover from the virus faster as it reduces the need for oxygen supply to the patients. It has been developed by the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), a laboratory of the DRDO, in collaboration with Dr Reddy's Laboratories in Hyderabad.
