Demand for Air Ambulances soar as covid cases rise
The demand for Air Ambulances has arisen amid the surge of the virulent second wave of COVID-19 across the country. A list of air ambulance services in India has been launched to help to airlift the trauma victims or critically ill patients from one location to another destination for better treatment. Recently, Hyderabad city has witnessed over 100 covid critically ill patients by Air Ambulance from other states.
The first covid patient was transferred by International Critical Care Air Transport Team(ICATT). According to the reports, ICATT has transferred 80 extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) patients during corona surge in the second wave. Dr Shalini Nalwad, co-founder and Dir, ICATT and Dr Rahul Sardar, co-founder and Dir, ICATT, have opened up on the Air Ambulance services.
