Former AP DGP B Prasada Rao dies of heart attack in US
Former Andhra Pradesh DGP B Prasada Rao died of heart attack in USA on Sunday night. He is survived by wife, son, and daughter. According to family members, he complained of chest pain in the middle of the night. An ambulance arrived after they called medical emergency number 911.
Rao breathed last while he was being shifted to a hospital. The 1979 batch IPS officer had worked as commissioner of police for Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad before getting promotion as DGP. He is the recipient of the Indian Police Medal and Presidential Medal in 1997 and 2006 respectively.
