Karnataka imposes lockdown for 14 days from today
Bengaluru: Amid surge in Covid-19 positive cases, the Karnataka government declared a total lockdown across the state from May 10-24. Earlier, the state government imposed curfew in the state but it was not effective to bring down the coronavirus cases. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa held a meeting with ministers and officials and announced lockdown. The people will be allowed to purchase essentials from 6 to 10 am during the lockdown period.
All shops providing essential commodities like milk, groceries, vegetables, and fruits, meat and fish are allowed to open during the four hours. Hotels, pubs, and all industries will remain closed and inter-district movement will not be allowed. The CM mentioned that all public transport services across the state will remain closed.
